Supporting Child Growth and Development

The preschool years are incredibly important years of development and growth for a young child. In this 1-hour course the student will learn more about a child?s development during those years. The course will provide the student with an overview of 4 main areas of child growth and development (Cognitive, Language, Physical and Social/Emotional), and offer practical tips on how best to support children's development through these early years. Funding for this online training was provided by the Workforce Solutions- Gulf Coast Workforce Board as part of their Early Care and Education Quality Improvement initiative.

Child Development and Assessment

Knowing how children develop is essential to meeting each child's needs. This module, which can be part of a 6-part Pre-Service training series, focuses on Core Competency 1: Child Growth and Development from the Texas Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners. Participants will explore how children grow, develop, and learn, what to expect of children at different ages between birth and age five, and how to take into account the unique capabilities of each child. Funding for this online training was provided by the Workforce Solutions- Gulf Coast Workforce Board as part of their Early Care and Education Quality Improvement initiative.
